Gordon Ramsey tries to talk sense into the crazy owners of Amy’s Baking Company Bakery Boutique & Bistro in Scottsdale, Arizona. This is the most nightmarish of all Kitchen Nightmares.

I edited it down to the relevant bits. It’s amazing that this is the food they serve (and the way they act) to a world-renowned chef on camera.

I can’t wait to get to this episode. 

This is fucking amazing.

I was reading about this all morning yesterday after it popped up on Metafilter, then I watched the full episode when I got home from work.  My emotional trajectory was: uncomfortable —> horrified —> actually sympathizing with Gordon Ramsay (!?!?) —> mesmerized…Then it ended and I was stressed out for like 3 straight hours.

"…I do remember being naked in the bath being scolded by my father. He was a psychiatrist, or a psychologist?…."

Overheard on the way to CVS this morning. It was an old business guy talking to a younger business woman.

The fact that he doesn’t know what his father’s occupation was is the least troubling thing about this.

…But I just read my third “jive” where someone meant “jibe” for this week, and it’s only Wednesday.

I can usually look the other way on things like this very easily, but the actual meaning of “jive” is so festive that it pulls me right out of the moment and into a mental dance party.
